Reading without an account

You can read the first lesson of each published section/course without signing in, along with the catalogue, overviews, learning paths and bounded AI schedule demo. Remaining full lessons, their source/evidence files and deeper investigations require a verified free account. The application code does not add advertising trackers or its own analytics package. The hosting platform records aggregate visit statistics for the published site — visits, page views, referring sources, pages, countries and device types — which, according to the platform's documentation, are not linked to your account and are not used to build visitor profiles. If you create an account

Our backend manages account authentication, including your email address, password verification or external-provider identity, and sessions. Passwords are not saved in learner progress records or available to the lesson interface; the authentication service handles password credentials. Your browser retains a sign-in session token, not your password. We also store lessons marked as read, recently opened lessons, bookmarks, answers to checks, and lab completions in account-owned records.

Product-update emails are off unless you opt in on your account page. You can also subscribe to course-launch notifications on the AI demo and learning-paths pages; we store your account ID, the topic, and the time you subscribed. No automated emails are sent; when a course launches we use the list to send a manual one-time notification to your account email. You can unsubscribe at any time from the same page.

How long we keep data, and deletion

Account and learning records are kept for as long as you have an account, so we can provide it. To delete your account and its saved data, email hello@systemsunpacked.dev from your account address (or include it). Deletion is done manually: your sign-in account, progress, bookmarks, notes, answers, enrolments, lab completions and the feedback you sent are removed. There is no automatic expiry schedule, and we do not promise when backups held by our infrastructure providers are purged.

Feedback

Only signed-in accounts with a confirmed email can send feedback, limited to 3 messages per 10 minutes and 20 per 24 hours. When you send feedback we store your message, the lesson it was sent from, the optional reply email you enter, and your account ID. We do not attach code, logs or page contents. Feedback is reviewed periodically by the operator and removed when no longer useful or on request; it does not expire automatically. Please do not include sensitive personal information.

Code execution

Lesson models run in your browser. Choosing Run or Check for Python downloads the pinned Pyodide runtime from jsDelivr; your IP address and normal request metadata reach that CDN. Edited code executes in a worker inside an isolated browser frame, not a native Linux server. The app does not send that code to a remote execution service. Practice check results may be saved to your account when you explicitly complete a lab.

Optional external content

YouTube players load only after you choose Load YouTube video. They use youtube-nocookie.com; YouTube receives request metadata and may use browser storage after loading. Unload removes the player but cannot erase information already sent. No remote video thumbnail is requested before your choice. Fonts use your device's fonts; there is no Google Fonts request.

Infrastructure and limits of this notice

The app uses a managed cloud backend for accounts and learner records and is delivered through managed hosting. Email to the contact address is handled by Google Workspace. Server errors are logged with diagnostic details, and the app calls optional host-provided error-reporting hooks when present, including message, stack and page path. We have not independently confirmed these providers' exact processing locations or log retention periods, and this notice is not a compliance certification.
